News: 2012/13 D1NZ Viewership Report
By Oversteer TV, Sep 12 2013 02:05PM
The time has come for our end of season viewership report for our inaugral year as Oversteer TV and official online broadcasters of the Cody's D1NZ National Drifting Championship series.
This month marks 1.5 Million views for the first 12 months of our new stand-alone YouTube channel, with more than 12,000 subscribers now tuned into regular videos from D1NZ Drifting and other motorsport content.
We continue to grow an average 35,000+ viewers tuning in each week, and more than
250+ new subscribers joining each week.
Advancements in technology now bring our content to mobile phones and tablet computers, with more than 35% of our audience now using mobile technology to watch our videos.
A big factor in the success of our new channel launch has been our partnership with now current D1NZ Champion, Daniel Woolhouse. Our sponsorship will again continue with the sucess of the FDC mini series, with more than 70,000 fans following Dan's videos throughout the season.
New OTV branding, race suits, and other promotional material will continue with not only with the FDC Motorsport team, but also a yet-to-be annouced rising star in the D1NZ Pro category, the new annoucement will come shortly in the lead up to the 2013-14 season.
Late July we launched our brand new website with YouTube intergration, creating a seamless platform for keeping up to date, accessing and viewing our content. Already fans are using the new site as an alternative hub for all things Oversteer.
As our viewers are now accustomed to, the D1NZ highlights package evolved into a brand new 20 minute presentation for the 2012/13 season which gained positive reviews and a much stronger viewership rate, as well as launching mid-roll advertising for the first time. The popular extended coverage, including videos from the Pro-Am class, car features and interviews continued, again with stronger viewership.
Oversteer TV continues to grow a massive international following particularly in the United States & Australia as well as 170 other countries, giving the D1NZ coverage global exposure with fan followings formed in online automotive and Motorsport communities around the world. Expat Kiwis and international Motorsport fans also make up the numbers.
The big fan response at race tracks and events around the country has been well received, as well as the feedback from teams and drivers who appreciate the free and on demand coverage produced by the small SBPnz team. With a strong passionate team the 2014 season will see new partnerships, sponsored teams, and exciting new content as the channel continues to grow and develop as New Zealand's premier online automotive YouTube channel.
