Following on from winning his second national title in the 2012-13 season, now two-time Drift King Fanga Dan will again represent the Oversteer TV brand into 2014 alongside the Castrol Edge sponsored FDC drift team.
Fanga Dan will join the recently signed Zak Pole in the OTV ranks and will also benefit with SBPnz's new alignment with Rollei Actioncam NZ, with a second season of the popular FDC series returning to subscribers screens before the end of the year.
"As announced in the lead-up to CRC Speedshow this year we are absolutely stoked to be back on-board with Fanga and following the FDC team's big title defence heading into 2014" Says SBPnz director Kenny Ruddell who expects a much different title fight this coming season.
"Dan's experience is without question, he's built and driven a range of cars, won 2 championships, hes won and podiumed events overseas and is now about to embark on one hell of a title defence.
He is revered and respected in our sport by young and old, everyone wants a piece of him - everyone wants to beat him. Throw in the very strong field this year, big sponsorship's and a bunch of talented new young-guns, that's whats going to make this next season most enjoyable i think."
The FDC team have taken on a tough schedule refreshing the Castrol Edge Commodore while also building a brand new chassis for 2014 with the help of Checkered Flag Automotive.
Rumors suggest the mysterious new car is expected to be unveiled on the eve of the team's home-town event in Whangarei which is scheduled as Round 2 of 6 on the D1NZ Calendar, 14-15 December 2013.
Woolhouse will campaign the #1 VZ Commodore in the D1NZ season opener at Hampton Downs this November, before switching to the new car for the 5 remaining rounds.
The FDC team have also alluded to campaigning both chassis' in this year's championship with other top motorsport driver(s) behind the wheel of the #1 VZ Commodore, of-course dependent on enough sponsorship to run the car.
With the task of preparing 2 cars for the season ahead the FDC team also made a tough decision to withdraw from competing in WTAC Australia this weekend for the Sydney Tectaloy International Drift Challenge.
"We are sorry to disappoint our fans but we have made the tough call to withdraw from World Time Attack. With a new car in progress, a team decision was made to focus on getting that ready to defend our D1NZ title. We thank everyone for their on going support and hope that you all like what we have in store for the coming season."
The first round of the Cody's D1NZ Championship series begins November 16 & 17 with official online coverage via Oversteer TV.
In the meantime fans can follow the hints and build progress on Fanga's new drift-car via the teams Facebook page.
