Round 2 of the 2025 D1NZ Series saw the first ever draw in drift competition, at least in New Zealand, maybe in the world?

Pro drifters Dave Steedman and Connor Halligan battled for 3rd place at Taupo Motorsport Park - but with a time certain finish - the drivers couldn't complete their competition; as the judges scored even points after their first battle - forcing a move into Sudden Death or OMT 'One More Time'.

The result was a hilarious move of sportsmanship, with the 3rd place trophy being cut in half with an angle grinder in pitlane..
