A late push in the 2023 D1NZ season put Central Drift Team's Taylor James in with a shot at winning the New Zealand Drifting Championship - mechanical dramas in the Prowear 3.4L RB powered S14 would see Tay step into the Team DSR 13b Rotary powered 180sx for the Grand Final event at Baypark Stadium.

Despite a hard charge in the battles, Tay would forfeit his attempt at the final with a clutch-line failure, settling for second place overall for the year.
