Taylor James from the Central Drift Team was an early front runner for the 2022 D1NZ series title with back-to-back podiums at Taupo Motorsport Park, as well as securing victory in the wet at Mt Smart Stadium.

While in the running for the title shot come the grand final, it was a tough fight to the end for the 3.4 Litre RB powered S14, with Tay eventually finishing 3rd overall for the year - 2 points shy of second, and 62 from the iconic D1NZ 'Drift King' trophy.
